Program Sessions at NHAPA are offered to students wishing to explore the art of dance or try new areas of interest in short term session throughout the year.  They present the perfect opportunity to experience our faculty and curriculum without the commitment of the traditional program and end-of-year performance. We are also excited to be offering Adults of different levels sessions to help foster their continued love of dance.

FIRST STEPS – Intro to Dance (ages 2 .5-4 yrs) *NEW SESSION BEGINS IN JANUARY!*

An introduction to dance focusing on movement and motor skills, flexibility, balance, musicality and rhythm in a fun and nurturing environment. Through this enjoyable and valuable educational experience, students will learn to use dance as a creative means of self-expression. Ballet slippers are required.


A high energy class building on the foundations of both jazz and tap.  This is a perfect session for students who may have had some previous experience or wish to try out a new genre.  


Lyrical is a fusion of ballet and jazz, with expressive motions that tell a story. Students will learn lyrical technique along with how to express emotion through movement. This class also blends the basic elements of Contemporary  dance, exploring freedom of expression, interpretation of music, levels, control, breathing, and balance.


From R&B, House to Club and Pop, POP VIDEO DANCE utilizes current hits and upbeat music by today’s top artists. The resulting outcome is an energetic class that not only teaches you the most current music video choreography, hip hop moves and technique, but also instills rhythm and precision in your muscle memory.

Mommy and Me – Intro to Dance (ages 18 – 24 months)

This class is designed to help children ages 18-24 months develop motor and coordination skills with the help of their mom in a fun, nurturing environment. A perfect opportunity for babies to get in on the dance fun before they are old enough to join a class on their own; you and your child will learn to love dance together! Open Jumps and Turns (9+)

An inspiring and challenging session for students to work on the strength, flexibility  and balance-All necessary for strong technique for turns and jumps. Class begins with an intensive stretch/strengthening warmup followed by progressions across the floor.

Tappy Hour (a recreational tap class for adults)

Have you always, always, always wanted to learn how to tap dance? Or, did you take tap as a child and then life happened and you gave it up for one reason or another?   This recreational tap class was created for anyone and everyone who wants to learn the basics of tap, get a great work out and enjoy some “adult time out.” Comfortable clothing and tap shoes recommended.

Multi-Level Yoga

This one hour class will be both energizing and fun; lots of fluid movement and attention to breathing. We will build strength and balance through playful sequencing. This class is great for all levels and you don’t have to be a dancer so don’t be afraid to give it a try! And for all the yoga-dancers out there, there will be lots of fun things for you too!
