FAQs
Here are answers to some of our most commonly asked questions.

When do classes start?
For the 2016-2017 school year, classes will start on Saturday, September 17th.

What does my child wear?
All students are required to wear an embroidered NHAPA logo leotard and pink tights. Shoes are dependent on the class/classes in which they are enrolled.

  • Preschool, Primary I and II students will need both pink ballet slippers and tan tap shoes.
  • Ballet/Jazz Basics and Combo classes will need pink ballet slippers and may elect to purchase tan jazz boots.
  • Levels I, II and III will need pink ballet slippers, beige tap shoes or tan jazz boots. Hip Hop students will need black jazz sneakers. Level III and above will receive information in class as to the specifics of their attire.

For your convenience, all dance attire can be purchased at NHAPA –DANCE ATTIRE. Contact Tracy at tracydwyer@nhapa.org with any questions.

At what age can students enroll in classes?
Students can enroll at NHAPA if they have turned 2.5 years or older by September 1st of that school year.

What classes do you offer?
We offer classes for ages 2.5 and up in preschool, pre-primary, primary, ballet, jazz/hip hop, tap, and lyrical. Our program also includes adult classes. More detailed class descriptions are found on our website.

Do you have an open house or info session?
Yes. We will have multiple open houses/registration days for all new students scheduled in July and August. Please check our website for the most up to date info on the registration dates for 2016.

What is the difference between your traditional classes and the session based classes?
Both the traditional and session based classes offer the same quality curriculum to students. Session based classes, however, run for only 4, 6, or 8 weeks, offering the choice of a shorter commitment for students and their families.

At what level will my child be placed?
Class placement is done at the discretion of the program directors. Placement is based upon age, ability and experience.
